Since 1996 Principals and their property have been my focus. After qualifying as a chef I moved into hotel management gaining a BA in Business Administration and Management. I then moved into Private Estate Management.
I lived for 12 years in the USA and 4 years in France and have managed private homes for high profile and HNW Principals in California and New York which included multiple properties worldwide. I've brought that knowledge base, passion and professionalism back to Devon.
What I bring to the table
I have a detailed and wide knowledge of tailoring your needs however large or small to suit you and your home. I have considerable experience in hiring and motivating contractors and staff. I've built networks with professional suppliers and providers to create a seamless transition from your wishes to reality. I have always maintained the highest level of confidentiality and discretion for my clients. I have passed background checks which include DBS Higher Level, FBI, CIA, Interpol and the Department of Homeland Security
The buck stops with me - therefore I manage every home personally. I prefer to meet with the Principal or manager to gain a clear understanding of the work required. I'm all about the detail and this helps to ensure you're happy with the results. I prefer to roll up my sleeves to assess the task. I've personally worked every domestic chore and overseen the building of new swimming-pools and residential remodeling. I've inventoried house contents for insurers and provide detailed reports on the progress of each project.
Home + abroad
Although, I am based in Devon, I frequently travel to both second or primary homes. I hold a UK/EU and USA driver's licence. Opening and closing homes for the season is often requested from a logistical standpoint. Our clients are at the core of everything we do and every decision we make.
I completed my French National Service as a sergeant serving in Germany. After a four year apprenticeship I qualified as a Chef de Rang. I moved to the UK and worked with prestigious hotels finishing in management. After gaining a BA in Business Administration and Management, I relocated to the USA where I worked in a private capacity as Estate Manager for high profile principals. During this time I also qualified as a Paralegal. Upon returning to the UK, I took a foundation Law course. I returned to the USA as an Estate Manager working for high profile Principals caring for their private homes.
What I bring to the table
I've always handled the logistical side of things. Identifying the work required and getting on with it. I hold a number of pertinent qualifications which have never stood in the way of me getting my hands dirty. As I'm people driven and a natural diplomat I have proven skills in negotiation and like nothing more than solving a problem. I'm very familiar with confidentiality agreements and have always maintained a strict code of confidentiality.
I have passed background checks which include DBS Higher Level, FBI, CIA, Interpol and the Department of Homeland Security
I've always maintained a physically active role when it comes to work. Whether its providing property assessments or stepping in to cover the unexpected. I run the reports at the end of the month and anticipate and log anything which may prove interesting to the Principal. As logistics are my area of expertise I'm the go-to person for relocating items between locations and ensuring details are not overlooked. I vet and manage both exterior of properties with a view to maintenance and any alterations which may be requested.
Home + abroad
I've lived in a number of countries and speak a number of languages - some better than others. When I'm sent outside of the UK I hit the ground running. I'm known for landing in JFK in the morning and sending back reports that afternoon on the home and grounds.
I build solid relationships with everyone involved in the smooth running of the Principals home - its the key to longevity and achieving the best results.
